The following is an an excerpt from my recently released book The Democrats’ Secret. I will be frequently releasing excerpts to share my thoughts:
There is a truism obvious to all Americans, bad results expand in lockstep with the Democrats’ policies. This is not something that only Republicans know, Democrats understand this reality better than anyone. It raises the question, knowing their policies make things worse, not better, why don’t Democrats renounce their failed policies. There are six major reasons. Here is the summary, with specific blog posts on each reason to follow:
One that raises the questions, why haven’t Democrats reversed course? Why have they continued to implement policies they know don’t work?” There are six major reasons Democrats have not renounced their failed policies:
1) Democrat policies have been in place too long. The Democrats’ policies have been in place so long that it would be nearly impossible for them to renounce their big government ideology, admit they have been wrong, and take a fundamentally new approach. Especially after Democrats have been so critical of Republicans’ limited government approach.
2) The ugliest truth in politics: Democrats benefit from the problems they create and through the expansion of government dependency. Democrats benefit when their voters struggle because struggle leads to government dependency, and Democrats have figured out the easiest way for them to gain more voters is to increase dependency.
3) Progressive privilege: Professional Democrats have enough money, resources and power to avoid being directly impacted by the negative outcomes of their policies. Thus, the people making the policies are spared the pain that would motivate them to fix their problems.
4) Vilification: Democrats have been able to use the relentless vilification of Republicans to convince millions of voters to cancel the Republican Party as a voting option and to support the Democratic Party for reasons that have nothing to do with Republican or Democrat policies.
5) Pelosian Bargains: Democrats have been able to structure Pelosian bargains, whereby they are able to create great futures for themselves in exchange for creating limited and government dependent futures for their voters.
6) The Most Important Question Never Asked: Democrats with progressive privilege never ask the most important question: Would I continue to support the Democratic Party if my family and I were directly impacted by Democrat policies?
